Brethren,
Normally
your Worshipful Master Ken Burch would be writing the Master’s Message for the
Trestle board. Unfortunately, Right Worshipful Brother Ken is
hospitalized as of this date. I’m sure you will join me in wishing him a
speedy recovery and will include him in your prayers. This reminds me of
one of the saddest stories that one hears too often in Lodge. Brother Doe
complains that he was sick or in the hospital and no Brothers came to
visit. The members present in Lodge are generally polled and no one knew
the Brother was sick because he never comes to Lodge or communicates with the
Brethren. Remember we are all ready to extend Brotherly Love. We
miss your presence.
Our
Lodge has gone “dark” for the summer months, a necessity as the temple is not
air-conditioned. Our next meeting will be on Thursday September 20th.
There will be a meal at 6pm, followed by an open installation at 7pm for our
new officers. At our June meeting, the Lodge elected “Yours Truly” as
Worshipful Master, RW Brother Chris Newbold as Senior Warden, Tim Jakubowski as
Junior Warden; WB John Ratcliff was reelected Treasurer and WB Bill Bean was
reelected Secretary. The rest of the line officers are appointed by the
Master, and those Brothers who are being asked to serve are being contacted
now. I thank the Brethren for their willingness to serve for the ensuing
year. I think we will have a very strong line of Officers. As
always we can count on assistance from our Past Masters on the sideline.
Our
last meeting was an exciting one as we “raised” Bro Jerry Jones. The
third degree was observed by 51 visiting Brethren, the majority of them from
The Prince Hall Lodge. Additionally we had Brother Noel Cookson from the
Grand Lodge of England and Brother Bryan Evans from Wisconsin. It was a
full night of fellowship. That was the third meeting in a row in which we
raised a Brother, as in April we raised Brother McGraw Milhaven and in May we
raised Brother Jarred Howes. I hope we see you in Lodge in the coming
year.

As Worshipful Master Elect Brother Bill Stone noted above, Naphtali has
had a very eventful year. During our ten
stated communications we raised six brothers, and elected an additional six as
Multiple Members. Hopefully the calendar
in the coming year will be equally full.
Remember to keep your contact information up-to-date while Naphtali goes dark, and also inform your secretary of any brother who is in sickness or distress. Be sure to keep RW Brother Ken Burch in your prayers.
